Sunset in Mabini Cod Cod in the afternoon
Sometimes it's nice to look up and enjoy the beauty all around, take a little time out and soak it in. Hope you enjoy these photos of some of the Philippines natural beauty. With all that's going on in the world at the moment hope you can have a peaceful few moments as you view these photos.
Above is a sunset in Vallehermoso and Sunrise, no just kidding these Roosters crow night and day but look at the beautiful colours. Cock fighting is big sport and big business here.
Look up and enjoy the beauty says I ! well this blog is usually on catch up, that is it could be a month or two behind with things that happened. On the 28th. November we get a call to be on Volcano alert ! This is what the local news reported : The Kanlaon volcano remains a forbidden area, as it continues to emit white steam plumes that rose up to 150 meters high above the summit crater before drifting to the southwest, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in its 8 a.m. Thursday advisory.
The Phivolcs said Alert Level 1 status prevails over the volcano, and this means that it is at an abnormal condition and in a period of current unrest.
Four volcanic earthquakes were also recorded in the area during the past 24 hours, added Phivolcs. Mary Andelene Quintia, of Phivolcs, said that continuous monitoring is conducted until the Kanlaon volcano’s abnormal activity stops, and the alert level will return to zero.
Since 1866, Mount Kanlaon had 23 phreatic explosions and it was only in 1902 that it had lava emission.
The Canlaon City Government also held an emergency preparedness meeting on Wednesday and conducted information campaign among its residents to be prepared for a worst-case scenario, said Mayor Jimmy Clerigo in a television interview.
There was no evacuation yet related to the steam explosion, the mayor added.
Based on the Kanlaon Volcano hazard map, nearest areas that could be affected in case of eruption are Canlaon City, La Carlota City, Bago City, San Carlos City, La Castellana, Murcia, and Moises Padilla towns.
Currently enjoying thunder storms which again for the most part are at night.
It truly is an amazing place. Sadly a fire in Manila destroyed about 800 homes in a shanty town leaving over three thousand people homeless. I have been in similar areas and can understand how the fire could spread so quickly and be impossible to control. Fortunately apart from some minor injuries there were no deaths caused by the fire. Typhoon, Storm, Fire, Floods, Volcano, these amazing people pick themselves up and start again. They may lack some other qualities, then again, is good time keeping a quality ? but they certainly have resilience.
Again thanks for the comments a shout out to Gary Horton who always gives us a laugh
